The title is incredibly cheesy but works just great, and since I've already submitted a track called " Sensual Ippon" in the past, I can safely say that being cheesy is of no concern to me. The whole jungle setting of the game was a great opportunity to go in that direction, and I think that the final track conveys a relaxing, meditative mood while still keeping a catchy aspect I've also added my own string chords and some light melodies to take the original track someplace else. I initially thought about taking the space/drone ambient route, but I realized that I'm one of the rare lunatics who enjoys that style without second-guessing then, I thought about mixing ambient and world/ethnic rhythms, which I already tackled on past remixes and had worked well. I'm a big ambient guy, so evidently using a source that relied heavily on mood was dream material for me to try something fresh and relaxing. Anyways, when I was asked to join the DKC3 project I listened to the soundtrack and "Cascade Capers" hit all the right notes with me. "I must be some kind of alien because I've never played or owned a Donkey Kong Country game in my youth, despite being a hardcore gamer since 1985 and having a go at nearly all big franchises. Up next we've got a DKC3 album cut from mv, offering an ethno-transcendental ambient mix that blossoms orchestrally after an extended intro:
